Which table services are worth the two-dining packages services? I heard about phone charges that you can buy and replace them when they ran out of battery in some kiosk. Could please give more information?

Welcome, Gabriel, to planDisney. I'm so happy you found your way to us. Like Moana wayfinding on the ocean, we're here to help guide you through the ins and outs of your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation, so let's go!

As you likely have already figured out, to dine at many of the signature table-service restaurants at the resort using your dining plan, you must redeem two table-service meals. And when it comes to "worth it," you'll want to look at the ones that have the highest out-of-pocket cost, since it'll get you more bang for your buck. Think of restaurants like Citricos and Narcoossee's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Another consideration is what you order at these locations. If you order the most expensive items that are eligible for the dining plan, you will be getting the most value. Just note that "worth it" is subjective. Much like Moana's journey, the best destination isn't always the same for everyone. If a certain cuisine appeals to you more, or dining with characters is your highest priority, well, restaurants that cater more to your preferences are going to make you feel more satisfied.

Another way to use your dining plan meals in a more budget-conscious way is to chart a different course and check out the restaurants that typically require you to redeem two table-service meals for lunch or dinner but only require one for breakfast. I'm looking right at you, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in EPCOT. Here, you essentially get the same dining experience, but it currently only requires you to use one table-service meal for breakfast. Just note that while the restaurant has its own flair for breakfast, the meal is typically more standard breakfast fare at this time.

When it comes to backup battery packs in the parks, think of a FuelRod as your own little wayfinder's tool, helping you stay powered up for every magical adventure. Currently, each park, Disney Springs, and most of the Disney Resorts Collection Hotels have self-serve FuelRod kiosks where you can pay a one-time fee to purchase one and then swap it throughout your trip at no additional cost. And yes, I have purchased them at home first and been able to swap them at one of these machines for no additional cost. Just make sure that if you're doing this, it is the same name, make, and model being used in the parks, as those are currently the only ones eligible for a swap. What's more is that you can also swap these at other locations besides Disney World. It's just that there is typically a fee associated with it elsewhere. As always, rules and policies are subject to change.

Gabriel, best wishes with planning your September trip. And be sure to check out the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival when you're there, which is running from August 27th to November 21st, 2026. Until then, may the ocean guide you to plenty of delicious discoveries! If you have any other questions, I'm here for you.

The call isn't out there at all - it's inside you,
    Matt
