Hi Elizabeth,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question!
The way that you can determine whether a given restaurant will accept either table service entitlements or counter service entitlements under the
Disney Dining Plan isn’t to look at the restaurant’s prices, but rather the type of service that is offered there. Best rule of thumb: if there is a Cast Member that takes your order (even if it’s just for drinks), then it’s probably considered a table service restaurant and will take 1 or 2 table service entitlements in order to dine there on the Disney Dining Plan. This pamphlet explains the “standard”
2017 Disney Dining Plan really well, and includes a list of which restaurants require which types of entitlements.
If you want to maximize the value that you and your family will get out of a Disney Dining Plan that you may have purchased for your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, I highly recommend paying for a less expensive table service restaurant “out-of-pocket” and saving your credits for a pricier location.
I hope my answer helps you plan your upcoming vacation! Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
