Hi there, Ann!
Welcome back! I am so glad to hEAR from you again – your fantastic questions are getting me excited for my own family’s upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation! I know you must be SO excited for your first Disney Cruise!
On embarkation day there are a few options for lunch when you board the ship. Cabanas buffet is open and usually my family’s choice because my boys are usually very hungry, and I know I can find something for everyone there – and quickly!! Plus…there you can find some incredible chocolate chip cookies which can please anyone!! There will also be a main dining room open for a seated lunch. When you receive your Personal Navigator at check-in and registration at the port, you will find which restaurant will be open for lunch service as well as the time that they will be serving. Additionally, you can opt for some quick-serve food from the pool deck which is another great option for kid-friendly (and adult-friendly) food options. Plus, if you’ve packed a carry-on bag with swimsuits you can dine while enjoying the first dips in the onboard pools!
Around 1:30PM your stateroom will be available for you to go to and your checked luggage will magically appear later that afternoon. Spend the afternoon exploring your “home away from home” and planning for some of the day’s activities! You will find there is so much to do while onboard, but luckily some of the activities are offered more than once. Helpful hint -- If you select an activity on the
Navigator app’s schedule it will provide you with other times the same activity is offered! So, if you can’t make one time option, plan for the next!
Wishing you a WONDERful cruise with many memories made!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
