Hello, Geneva! Thank you for stopping by planDisney with this sweetheart of a question.
The short and sweet answer is no, you do not need to make a theme park reservation when you have a
Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite ticket. Your event ticket is all you need for entry. Sweethearts’ Nite officially begins at 9 p.m., but you can enter Disneyland Park up to three hours early, starting at 6 p.m., which is one of my favorite perks. That extra time lets you soak in the atmosphere, scope out Character interaction spots, and start your romantic evening right!
If you are hoping to visit Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure earlier in the day, you would need to purchase a standard One Day One Park or Park Hopper ticket and be sure you also have a valid
theme park reservation for that date.
One thing I always recommend looking into for Sweethearts’ Nite is the special dining opportunities. There are
three dining package options available during the event, including Carnation Cafe, River Belle Terrace, and Blue Bayou (my favorite restaurant!). These packages can be a lovely way to enjoy a meal with your loved one. Availability is limited, and these tend to go quickly, so check for reservations
online or via the
Disneyland app.
Beyond dining, Sweethearts’ Nite is filled with special experiences that make the evening feel truly unique. You can expect themed photo backdrops and
PhotoPass opportunities, with digital downloads included in your ticket, exclusive character appearances you do not usually see together, romantic entertainment moments, and party only treats scattered throughout the park. One of my favorite parts of After Dark events is the lighter crowds, which make strolling hand in hand through the park and hopping on attractions feel extra magical.
Wishing you an evening full of romance, special memories, and all the charm that comes with a Disneyland After Dark celebration. Enjoy every love filled moment, and stop back by if you have any more planning questions before your visit!
