Susan, thanks! Staying at new AOA and I am a little concerned how long it will take to navigate from place to place (never stayed on Disney Property). Arriving late on 6/5 leaving early on 6/11, me & husband 2 boys (7 & 4) and grandma, any suggest

    Hi Miranda!

I'm excited to hear that this is the first time you have stayed on Disney property, and that you will be one of the first families to stay in the brand new Disney's Art of Animation Resort!  I am sure you will love staying at a Disney Resort - you will be immersed in the magic 24-hours a day, and there are many benefits available to you, such as Extra Magic Hours at the parks, and if you buy anything at the parks you can have your package delivered back to your resort so you don't have to carry it around all day.  You also have use of the Disney Transportation System, for ease of getting around Walt Disney World Resort.  You will find the bus stops at the front of your resort, and buses travel direct to the theme parks.  If you wish to travel to another resort you will have to travel via Downtown Disney, or the theme parks, or the Transportation and Ticket Center.

I usually suggest allowing 60 minutes to travel from your resort to a theme park (this is not the time spent on the bus, but time spent travelling from A to B - maybe from your room, to the entrance of a the theme park).  Time spent travelling may be less than this.   If you are travelling from your resort to another resort, I would allow longer, say 60-90 minutes.

You may wish to collect a copy of the Walt Disney World Transportation Guide from the front desk when you check-in to your resort.
