We're surprising our 7yr old with his 1st trip to DW in Sept. We'll be staying 7nights/8days-7day park pass. Should we plan to go to a theme park on arrival day (arrive @noon) or save the 7th pass to revisit his fave on our departure day-depart @6:15pm?

Hi Katherine!  Thanks for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

When my family and I visit Walt Disney World, I never schedule a park day for the day we arrive.  When we get to the resort and get checked in, we love to explore our new "home".  After we find our room and unpack, we usually walk around and take pictures then find our way to the resort food court to fill up our new refillable mugs.  After some resort exploring, we like to hit Downtown Disney to find the perfect autograph book and enjoy some dinner.  If we are in the mood for something quick, we love grabbing a sandwich of Earl of Sandwich and then a sweet treat at Goofy's Candy Company.  After some shopping and a good meal, we like to go back to the resort for a night swim and then off to bed for a good night's rest.  I find our trip is much more enjoyable if our arrival day is much more relaxed.  Saving your 7th park pass for the last day will give you some flexibility when touring the parks.  If you visit Magic Kingdom but aren't able to hit every single attraction you would like, you can always save that for the last day without stress.  If you are able to do all of your must do's, then use it to revisit the park you enjoyed the most.

I hope this helps you decide what you should do on your arrival day!  If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.  Have a magical day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
