Surprising 8 yr old son with trip in August. Driving from NC. He thinks we are going to beach. Should I surprise him before we leave, or can we drive into ASMo without him realizing til we get there that he's at WDW? I want him really surprised!

    Hello there Alison!

I live in South Carolina so I have made that drive down to Orlando many times! If your son is anything like mine, he will probably be playing a video game or watching tv most of the time, until you tell him to look out the window! HA HA My kids are totally clueless until we get to Orlando and then the International Drive area. There will be lots of Billboards for all of the theme parks in the area. He may figure something is up at that time... You could just use the excuse that you are in Florida and Disney advertises everywhere! HA HA!!

Once you pass the Sea World exit a little further down the road, you will see Downtown Disney to the right side of I-4.. You could tell him then or wait until you go through the Always Impressive Welcome to Walt Disney World Sign which features Mickey and Minnie Mouse! Good luck with the surprise!!! I hope you have a Magical Time at the Walt Disney World Resort! If you have more questions, we are always here to help! Thanks so much for asking the Moms Panel!
