Hello Tiffany,
As the Mom of a soon-to-be eight-year-old girl, I know exactly where you are coming from. While she'll always be my Princess Aurora, my daughter is growing up to have the spunk of cowgirl Jessie. Always looking to have a rootin' tootin' good time!
But that doesn't mean your surprise will fall flat - I know your daughter will still have a fantastic time at Disney World. Has she gone to the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street yet? No Princess makeovers here. She can ask to have Pixie Dust (colored gel and glitter) sprinkled into her hair. You can call 407-WDW-PLAY to reserve a spot.
My daughter also likes to take some time out from the attractions at Hollywood Studios to interact with the Citizens of Hollywood. These are the actors and directors who perform skits along
Sunset Boulevard,
among other spots. My daughter loves to walk the "red carpet" or audition for a role in an upcoming film. It's my daughter's way of grabbing some Hollywood glitz and glamour!
Or you can take her to Downtown Disney because what girl doesn't love to shop?
LittleMissMatched and TrenD are two of our favorites spots to hit!
And don't be fooled. There's plenty of attractions for a "big girl" to do like Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Expedition Everest. Plus, there's a few things like Dumbo and It's a Small World to remind her she can still be a "child" at heart.
No matter where you choose, I hope you and your daughter have a wonderful time! Enjoy your trip!
