Elizabeth! Ahoy and welcome to planDisney! I'm so excited to hear that you're considering a magical voyage on Disney Cruise Line - with a surprise Guest! Can I come?!
You've got your eye on an incredible itinerary, my friend.
Castaway Cay (pronounced "Key") and
Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point are private destinations in The Bahamas exclusively for Disney Cruise Line Guests and, no surprises here, both provide excellent service, fun activities, delicious food, and adult-only areas. (I'm still dreaming about that clear blue water!) Yet, they each offer unique experiences infused with their own special charm, so you'll enjoy the best of both worlds.
As for documentation, travelers on round-trip sailings to the Bahamas, which include stops at Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, must have an original valid US passport OR original state-issued birth certificate AND a physical government-issued photo ID. Even though I know you love surprises, Elizabeth, it might be a good idea to visit
the Disney Cruise Line website to confirm the documents necessary on your particular sailing, just to be on the safe side.
I should mention,
Disney does recommend Guests carry a valid passport with them when traveling. In the unlikely event that an emergency should occur requiring a flight home from a foreign port, a passport allows for a swift journey home. That would not be a good surprise.
I understand that there are a lot of details that go into planning a magical vacation, especially when there are surprises involved, so please don't hesitate to sail on by again anytime to
ask another question. My family has made many lifelong memories together aboard Disney Cruise Line and I would be thrilled to be a part of making your adventure at sea come to life.
Magic awaits,
McCayla
