We are surprising our kids (9&6) at the airport for their first DW trip. They really don't know much about Disney. Are there any movies or TV episodes that feature DW as part of the plot as a sneaky way for us to introduce them to the magic of DW?

    Hi Kara,

Wow, what a great question!  I love the idea of sneakily infusing some thoughts of Walt Disney World into your children's heads before you go on your trip.

I assume that you are looking for something where Walt Disney World is in the background and not the subject of the show.  There is a website at www.bartlett-sloan.net which tracks Disney-related television and is updated weekly.  Go to that site and click on the green box for Disney Theme Parks-related TV for a listing of what is available in the near future.  If you have access to a library of older shows, there are episodes of Family Matters, Step by Step, Full House, Roseanne, Boy Meets World, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch which involve Walt Disney World.

Another thought for you is the Kingdom Keepers series of books by Ridley Pearson.  These books have settings at Walt Disney World.  I must caution you though that they might be a little bit scary for your children - the reading level is a bit above their ages and the main characters are older than you children, so you need to make a judgment of if you think this would be a good read aloud with your children.

Have a wonderful time planning your trip, Kara, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
