I am surprising my husband with an exotic driving exp. during our next trip in Dec. I know there is a free shuttle for him but do we have to go with him and wait the 3 hrs,or is there an ongoing shuttle service that will deliver us in time to see him drive

Howdy Tracy! What a treat this will be for your hubby! I gave mine the same surprise last past May.

To be on the safe side, I would plan to ride the shuttle with him. If not, there is a chance you may miss him drive. To set the right expectation, there is not too much for spectators to do. There is a small shop, a few snacks and a couple of places where you can sit outside and watch the drivers.

When you arrive, your hubby will check in and join the other drivers in a required meeting to review safety, procedures, etc. I believe the meeting was about 15-20 minutes long but that could vary based on the number of drivers that day.

After that, everyone moves outside and is fitted with a helmet. Another brief meeting takes place and the drivers are moved into position by their cars. Your husband will have his picture taken in the vehicle and when it is his turn, he will get behind the wheel of the luxury sports car of his choice and take off!

The order of the drivers is based on a variety of factors including the number of people in attendance, who is driving which car, etc. If you do not go with him in the beginning, you may not know exactly when he is on the track. I would have been devastated if I would have missed my hubby driving!

I currently have a 6 and 4 year old. They did get a bit restless. Two suggestions: 1. Take something to do if you have young children or anyone who might get impatient. 2. Make sure you have applied sunscreen as you will spend some time outside.

Once my husband started driving, the kiddos were over the top excited. When he finished, they forgot all about being restless and wanted to hear all about his experience. He loved every minute of it and they enjoyed having him tell them about it. I know your husband will love it too!

Please let me know if you need any further information as you plan your vacation. Thanks so much for your question and have a magical day!!
