Hi Kate,
Congratulations on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation! You have asked a great question about how to make the most of your visit. Before I give you my personal opinion I want to add a caveat that there simply is no wrong choice for you. Each theme park is unique and appeals to a wide variety of ages while accommodating for special needs of Guests as well. I honestly believe you could make your decision either way and experience a magical adventure with either choice.
Now for my personal opinion: As a Mother of four children I have discovered that each child of mine has their own favorite theme park. And wouldn't you know it - each one of my children has a different favorite theme park! Since you already know you will be visiting Magic Kingdom, I suggest taking a look at the
Attractions and
Entertainment offered at Disney's Hollywood Studio. Since you know your children's interests better than anybody else, you will probably notice quickly if this theme park is a "must do" for your family. If after you have perused the attractions and entertainment and are still not sure, then my advice is to spend two days at Magic Kingdom. My reasoning is that Magic Kingdom is quite large and has so many rides, attractions, and entertainment that you will be amazed at all of the areas you still have to explore after two full days of visiting.
Thank you for your question Kate! Please let us know if we can help you further with your Disney vacation planning. We are always happy to help.
Blessings,
