On 9/5 we will be surprising our daughter with a trip to Disney for her 10th birthday. Arrive Orlando at 2:15pm and check in at Grand Floridian with the birthday girl & 2 year old sister. What do you suggest for birthday dinner and activities? Thanks

    Dear Elizabeth,

Please wish your daughter a happy birthday on behalf of the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

I have a few suggestions to make your daughter's birthday extra special.  After you arrive at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, take some time to explore this enchanting place.  I think your daughters are going to love the resort they will be calling home during your vacation.  That evening, I suggest you celebrate your daughter's birthday by attending Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  They have a wonderful, family-friendly buffet there.  Even better, they have characters who come to each table to interact with your family and pose for pictures.  A photo with Cinderella would be such a magical memento of your daughter's tenth birthday!  Call (407) WDW-DINE to book your dinner reservation today.  This is a much sought-after dining location.  Be sure to tell the reservation specialist that you will be celebrating your daughter's birthday.

I would try to set up dinner between 6 and 7 pm so that you can enjoy a leisurely meal and then wander out to the beach along the Seven Seas Lagoon.  From there you will have an amazing view of the Wishes fireworks spectacular.  You can also see the Electrical Water Pageant glide by.  My guess is that this will be a tenth birthday your daughter will never forget!
