We are surprising our daughter with FL Gold Annual passes and a resort stay next week for her 6th birthday. I heard we can show FL proof to get activated at the Disney resort instead of guest services at the park. Is this true?

    Hi Heather,

What an awesome birthday gift for your daughter -- and for you! I think you are going to love being Walt Disney World passholders and the flexibility it offers you to visit the magic as often as you like over the next year.

I've been a Florida resident passholder for almost 20 years, and I've never been able to validate my passes at a resort. The last time I asked, about two years ago, I was told that it just works better and more efficiently at one of the theme park guest relations or ticket windows.

The wait to see a cast member there is usually short, and once you reach the window, you should be on your way in 3 minutes or so. All you have to do is show your Florida ID, tap your Magic Band and you are good to go for a whole year.

My favorite place to validate my pass or do other ticket-related business is at the International Gateway entrance to Epcot. It's the least busy and seldom has more than two or three people in line at a time.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Please let me know if I can help you make plans to get the most out of your Florida resident pass. Enjoy!
