Surprise TREATING my girls to a stay at the Polynesian this year. When and where can we see the Torch Lighting ceremony, what should we expect, is it likely to be busy? What time should we make an O'Hana reservation for to enjoy dinner afterwards. Thanks!

Aloha Megan! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

What a wonderful surprise you have in store for your daughters! Disney's Polynesian Resort is not only 1 of the original Walt Disney World Resorts hotels but remains the favorite of many Guests to this day.

One of the aspects that makes Disney's Polynesian Resort so special is the immersive theme and attention to detail. Experiences like the torch-lighting ceremony that runs Tuesday-Saturday at 6 pm help create an Endlessly Magical experience that is second-to-none.

The torch lighting ceremony includes the torch lighting and a fire-twirling performance that implements the help of 1 special family to assist in the tradition. Selection of the family is random, so I recommend talking to Guest Services about the event to ensure the best possibility of being in the "right place at the right time".

The torch-lighting ceremony lasts roughly 10-15 minutes. My suggestion for Advanced Dining Reservations for 'Ohana would be for no earlier than 6:30 pm to leave plenty of time to enjoy the festivities and still arrive at 'Ohana with time to spare.

The torch lighting ceremony is a small sample of theDisney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show that takes place from Tuesday-Saturday at Luau Cove at Disney's Polynesian Resort. If you are looking to continue your immersive Polynesian-themed experience, you may be interested in booking Advanced Dining Reservations for the show.

Have a Magical Vacation with your 'Ohana!
