We would like to surprise our son with a Disney Pirate Adventure cruise. We are trying to decide between the Bayou Pirate Adventure (Port Orleans) or the Disney Pirate Adventure (Grand Floridian)? What are the major differences between the two?

Hello, Kim!  Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
My daughter took the Bayou Pirate Adventure during our stay at Disney's Port Orleans - Riverside last year and she loved it(although she would NOT stop saying "booty" for the rest of the day).
    TIMING
Disney's Pirate Adventure sails most days of the week out of the Grand Floridian marina, while the Bayou Pirate Adventure usually sails only 3 times a week out of the Riverside Levee marina.  Since scheduling is subject to change for all tours, the most effective way to know the schedule for your trip dates is to contact a tour reservation specialist at (407)939-7529.  All Pirate Adventure cruises are scheduled from 9:30am to 11:30am EST, regardless of cruise.
    LOCATION
Disney's Pirate Adventure launches from the Grand Floridian, with easy access from all monorail-loop resorts, while the Bayou Pirate Adventure is accessible from any of the theme parks or Disney Springs by bus.  If you have your own transportation, I recommend choosing a location that fits the rest of your plans for the day (perhaps a spa treatment for Mom?).
    THEME
Disney's Pirate Adventure is a themed quest for treasure based on Jose Gaspar(Gasparilla), a mythical pirate of southwestern Florida, while Bayou Pirate Adventure focuses on Jean Lafitte, a real life pirate who terrorized the Gulf of Mexico.
No matter which Disney Pirate Adventure you choose, your son will have a safe and fun trip with fantastic cast members and other excited children pretending to be pirates with a little Disney magic sprinkled in.
To book a Disney Pirate Cruise, contact a tour reservation specialist at (407)939-7529.
    Happy sailing!
