Sisters in front of Cinderella Castle

I want to surprise my mom and little sister with a trip to Disney world. It’s my first time planning trip. I want to get the cheapest deal possible. Also, we will be celebrating three birthdays and Christmas.

    Hi Stephanie,

Your question warms my heart! I am sure they will be elated when they find out the news!

My first suggestion would be to take a look at the Disney Resorts Collection hotels. Typically, the most budget-friendly resort hotels are Disney's All-Star Music, Disney's All-Star Movies, and Disney's All-Star Sports Resorts. Do some comparison pricing using the vacation package link. Even if you only stay one or two nights, I think that staying in the middle of the magic is priceless.

Be sure to also review the Special Offers to see if there is an offer that you might be able to use for the dates of your visit. Once you review the Special Offers and select a vacation package, decide how many theme park ticket days you can do within your budget. Then make sure everyone on that vacation package has Disney Park Pass system reservations for each day they have valid theme park admission. If you only do one ticket day, you could take another day to relax at the resort and visit Disney Springs. We love just browsing through the shops and dining at Disney Springs!

If you have not done so already, create a My Disney Experience account. Use it to link and track all of your plans. As you plan, be sure to decide if you are paying for a more expensive birthday celebration. We love to celebrate my husband's birthday at California Grill atop Disney's Contemporary Resort. We also always make advanced dining reservations, so consider how many dining reservations you will need and be sure to make those within your dining reservation window. And, if you want to add a little extra magic to the birthday surprises, try ordering from Disney Floral & Gifts.

Stephanie, planning your first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort can be a little daunting. But once you get started, I sense you will learn quickly. It sounds as if you may have the power of the Jedi behind you. May the Force be with you as you plan!

    Magic and memories,
