I want to surprise my husband with a trip and want to be guaranteed to get into the Star Wars ride that’s all he’s really interested in he’s never been to any Disney properties what do you recommend I have no budget constraints in the next 3 wks

Hello there, Theresa, and welcome to planDisney! I can already tell that the Force is strong with you, as it's such a loving gesture to surprise your husband with a trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth so he can have some intergalactic fun. There are a few Star Wars attractions available at Walt Disney World, and I'm assuming you are looking to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance on your upcoming visit. I'd be happy to help you increase your odds of experiencing this and other Star Wars adventures during your visit, so buckle up as we jump to hyperspace to retrieve an answer!

There are three Star Wars attractions at Walt Disney World, and they are located at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run are in Star War's Galaxy's Edge, and Star Tours – The Adventures Continue is in Echo Lake. One strategy to ride these attractions is to use the complimentary standby queue that is offered. To save time, you can purchase one or more Lightning Lane products to significantly reduce the amount of time spent in line. You may be able to pre-book Star Tours and Smuggler's Run by purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass, but you will need to purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass for Rise of the Resistance since it is not available as a Multi Pass selection.

You can also choose to spring for Lightning Lane Premier Pass, which will grant you one-time access to each Lightning Lane attraction in one park for one day without having to schedule ahead of time or wait in a standby line, but it will be the most expensive of the options I have presented. If it's just Rise of the Resistance that you are seeking, I recommend purchasing a Single Pass for that attraction. I do want to remind you that attractions are subject to availability, and park admission or the purchase of a Lightning Lane product does not guarantee that a ride will be operational on the day of your visit or when you go to get in line.

It's time to weigh the options, Theresa! You and your husband are going to have an out of this world experience no matter which route you take. Brush up on your Han Solo impression so when he says, "I love you," you can coolly reply, "I know."

May the Force be with you, always,
    Scott
