I want to surprise my grandson's for Easter with a trip. Do you have something that I could give them/show them to surprise them with the trip this summer?

    Ahoy, Michelle!

Welcome aboard planDisney! What an incredible surprise you have planned. I can already imagine the excitement on your grandsons’ faces when they realize they’re heading out on a Disney cruise adventure. That’s the kind of moment that sticks with you forever.

I know we are just one day away from Easter, so that can limit some options, but I do have an idea that might work really well and add a little extra Disney magic to your reveal.

First, I recommend heading to the Disney Cruise Line website and going into your reservation to set up a “Complimentary Character Call.” Toward the bottom of the page, you should see the “Request a Call” link. From there, you can choose Mickey, Goofy, or Mickey and Minnie. After entering your details, you’ll receive a phone number and a special code that you’ll use for the next part of your surprise.

Now here’s where the fun really begins. Disney Cruise Line released a short video called “Where Magic Meets The Sea,” and it’s a great way to set the stage. You could casually gather everyone together and watch the video without giving away what’s coming next. Let them enjoy it, take it all in, and maybe start wondering why you picked that video.

Then, once it ends, you can say something like, “You know what, I think we should check in with Mickey real quick.” That’s your cue to dial the number you were given. When prompted, enter the code, and when it asks you to press “1,” that’s when the magic really kicks in. I recommend keeping it off speaker until that moment you press “1” so it feels like Mickey (or your chosen character) is talking directly to them. When they hear that voice and realize what’s happening, it’s going to be a reveal worthy of a grand finale, like the moment the gates open in Frozen and everything suddenly comes to life.

If you want to add one more layer, you could pair the call with a small physical surprise. Something like a Disney-themed item, a toy ship, or even a simple note that says “We’re going on a cruise!” can help make the moment even more memorable once the call ends.

I hope this helps you pull off an unforgettable Easter surprise that your grandsons will be talking about long after the cruise is over. You’re not just giving them a trip, you’re giving them a memory that will last a lifetime.

Sea ya real soon as springtime magic carries us from one adventure to the next,
