Hi there, Angel! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
Is there anything more magical than celebrating a birthday at
Walt Disney World Resort? I'm sure that your son is going to make memories that will last a lifetime on this trip, and it would be my pleasure to help you make it as special as possible for him. Be sure to pick up a complimentary birthday button at the front desk of your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel or at any
Guest Relations location. Your son will love all of the birthday wishes he receives from Cast Members and other Guests while he's wearing his button.
I think it's a wonderful idea to decorate your resort hotel room as a birthday surprise for your kiddo, however, Cast Members probably won't be able to assist with this. If you are traveling with another adult, I would recommend either returning to your room a bit earlier than the rest of the group or staying behind for a few minutes when everyone leaves in the morning. You could use this time alone to set up your decorations. If it's just you and your son on this trip, perhaps you could set everything up while he is sleeping. A decorated room would be a fun surprise to wake up to.
If you'll be
planning a special birthday meal for your son, you might want to consider surprising him with a Mickey Mouse celebration cake. A list of participating restaurants can be found on this
Cakes at Walt Disney World Resort page. You can place a cake order in advance when you book your dining reservation online or using the
My Disney Experience app. Orders are also accepted in person at the restaurant's host podium at least four days prior to your reservation. You can also request a cake upon arrival at the restaurant, but quantities of cakes for day-of orders are limited.
Angel, if you need any other advice for celebrating your son's birthday or any other aspect of your vacation, please don't hesitate to ask. My fellow planDisney panelists and I are all ears! See ya real soon!
