Hi Wayne,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. Staying at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort is a great way to experience all the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks but come “home” to a tranquil, nature-filled retreat. This resort is a lovely spot for peace and relaxation, but there’s also so much magic and fun built right in. It’s the best of both worlds!
For me, one of the best parts of camping is the campfire.
Toasty marshmallows and hot cups of coffee around a crackling fire are some of my very favorite things. At
The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, as well as at the Cabins, you won’t find fire rings, but you’re welcome to bring an approved fire pit. Approved fire pits are made of metal, are enclosed, and have a lid. The design must prevent any open flames. If you do an internet search for “Disney approved fire pits,” you’ll see pictures and advice from fellow Guests.
Wayne, you’ll want to check in with a Cast Member when you arrive in case of any fire bans or other rules you may need to know about. The resort doesn’t sell fire pits or wood, so you’ll want to make a stop before you arrive.
Enjoy your stay at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort! My family just loves all the
recreation options available there, from horseback riding to canoeing and kayaking, to archery and so much more. Have the wildest time in the wilderness!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
