I am supposed to be staying at Port Orleans beginning 10/1/20. Just found out through a blog that they are not opening. Disney has not reached out to me. I cannot get through to a guest services. What should I do?

    Jambo Kathleen!

Glad you came to the Disney Parks Moms Panel as your trusted resource for all things Disney. We will not let you down!

During its phased reopening, Walt Disney World's primary objective is the health and safety of Guests and Cast Members. To that end, select Disney Resort hotels will be open. You are correct that Disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside and Disney's Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter are not currently slated to be part of the phased reopening. But...

Hakuna Matata! Disney is already sending out emails for upcoming reservations allowing Guests to confirm, modify, or cancel their plans. It's a very straightforward process, and the response button is embedded in the email itself. If a Travel Agent made your reservation, they will handle the next steps for you. If you dealt with Disney directly, you will click on the option that says "I'm Planning on Modifying My Reservation." Disney will then validate your selection and provide next steps. This may mean you get to experience a totally new Resort hotel...what a fun opportunity! And as Rafiki says, "Change is good."

As we speak, Zazu the messenger may be bringing word to you via email about your upcoming reservation. If you haven't received it yet, they may be sending emails out in batches depending on arrival dates.

I know you will feel a swell of "pride" and happiness once all the details of your trip are finalized. As always, keep checking the Walt Disney World reopening updates and make your park reservations with the new Disney Park Pass system. I hope your plans include a trek to Disney's Animal Kingdom to take in the Tree of Life and enjoy the excitement and energy at the Festival of the Lion King.

    Asante Sana!
