Hi, Jaclyn!
Welcome back to planDisney! It looks like my friend Tiffany was able to share information about refurbishment schedules, and I am happy to answer this question about the weather at Disneyland Resort.
Can you believe that mid-January is one of my favorite times of year to visit "The Happiest Place on Earth???" The holiday festivities are over and spring break has not begun yet, often leading to fewer Guests visiting the theme parks in my experience. I also love
rainy days at Disneyland Resort! Local Guests frequently avoid visiting Disneyland when it rains, which usually means reduced wait times for attractions and experiences. Yay! Most attractions operate in the rain in my experience. Parades may be limited in inclement weather, but sometimes you can catch a Rainy Day Cavalcade instead!
I bring a poncho, rain boots, and an umbrella for rainy days. I like ponchos more than rain jackets because they are often longer, and I can sit on them when riding outdoor attractions. I can also wear a backpack under the poncho to keep our stuff from getting wet. Make sure to bring a water-resistant stroller cover! My little one has cruised in her stroller many times during the rain thanks to a good stroller cover.
One of my favorite rainy day spots is the Disney Animation Building in Disney California Adventure Park. Here, little dudes and dudettes can participate in
Turtle Talk with Crush (so much fun!), meet Anna & Elsa, and see animation come to life in the giant foyer. Over in Disneyland Park,
Storytelling at Royal Theater is often a hit on rainy days, and check the
Hours & Events Calendar as it gets closer to your trip to see if anything fun is taking place in the Fantasyland Theater.
Jaclyn, I hope this makes you feel more optimistic about your upcoming visit! Please reach out to planDisney again if you have other questions.
Magic Happens!
Jen
