We are going to be there when the Super Bowl is being played. Where is a good place to watch the game since ESPN is closed?

    Hi Cynthia! Welcome to planDisney.

I love hearing that you're just weeks away from a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! I'm a big fan of visiting during the cooler months, and I hope you enjoy some glorious weather on your vacation.

It sounds like you're a sports fan since you're planning for the big game already - here at planDisney, we LOVE our fellow planners, so welcome to the club. Full disclosure: I was quoted in a Disney Parks Blog article a few years ago saying that my favorite spot to enjoy the Super Bowl would be to escape to a theme park while my husband watched the big game. But never fear - I have several ideas for where to enjoy the game along with your fellow sports fans and some good food and drink.

You're right that ESPN Club is currently unavailable as part of the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, and we don't have any news about a planned reopening. Continue to watch the Disney Parks Blog, as they have been announcing restaurant reopening dates. For a similar atmosphere, check out Splitsville Dining Room in Disney Springs. They have fun bar food and great drinks, and they've shown the game in past years.

If you're looking for a high-end sports bar feel, City Works Eatery & Pour House in Disney Springs is another great option. They have huge TVs that will surely be playing the game, plus a great menu and a huge craft beer selection.

An under-the-radar gem is Rix Sports Bar & Grill at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. My family considers this resort our "Disney home" and they host 31 TVs and amazing nachos. They also have a delicious breakfast menu! If you'll be staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you can ask a Cast Member where they recommend watching the game. Some moderate and deluxe hotels have lounges and pool bars that will be showing the game.

Cynthia, I am now ready for a giant soda and some appetizers! I hope this helps you get started thinking about where to enjoy the Super Bowl, and be sure to read the Disney Parks Blog, as they will probably feature some Super Bowl stories as we get closer to game day. If you'll still be around the next day, there's might be a special parade in Magic Kingdom Park, and sometimes an appearance by the players who are "Going to Disney World!" after their victory. That was paused last year as part of the phased reopening, so stay tuned to see what 2022 holds.

Thanks for stopping by with your question, and please come back if we can help with anything else. Have the best time!

    Wishing you much magic,
    Robyn
