Hi there, Teresa! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with this CHEERful question. Since you're arriving at
Walt Disney World Resort tomorrow (yay!), let me grab my poms and warm up my spirit fingers to help you prepare for your visit.
You are going to have a fantastic time cheering on your favorite team at the D2 Summit this weekend! As a Disney dance mom myself, one of the highlights of the year is watching our daughters' high school dance team compete in their national championships at the
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The ESPN complex is a great location for cheer and dance events with multiple competition venues, plenty of seating for spectators, and food and beverage options to suit athletes and fans alike!
Travel packages for the D2 Summit are sold through Varsity, the event organizer, but you can easily link your resort reservation and tickets for ESPN and the theme parks in your
My Disney Experience account. Keep in mind you may have separate confirmation numbers for the resort booking and the tickets. There's actually a helpful short video to walk you through the steps to link the reservations on the Summit event homepage if you experience any issues! If you have an active
MagicBand, you can use this to open the door at your Resort Hotel and for entrance at ESPN and the theme parks.
When you're not watching the action at ESPN, there are all sorts of fun things happening around Walt Disney World to add a little extra magic to your visit! I especially recommend making some time to visit
EPCOT, where the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is in bloom through May 27. We visited the festival this season and were enchanted by the beautiful gardens and character topiaries found all around the park. Be sure to save room for the delicious offerings from the Outdoor Kitchens, too! One important detail--your tickets do require you to make a
theme park reservation for the park you plan to visit each day.
Teresa, I'll be wishing your #1 squad a memorable championship weekend and a Hit Zero! Thanks again for visiting planDisney, and please stop by again if we can help out with any other questions. We're all in this together!
Go Team!
Susan
