What is Sum of All Thrills like? We love Soarin' but do NOT like Expedition Everest or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Do you think we would like the mild version of Sum of All Thrills? Thanks

    Hi Charles!

Soarin' is my all-time favorite attraction at Walt Disney World.  No trip is complete for me without a visit through the orange grove.  Because I have moderate motion sickness and also some spinal issues, not every thrill ride is for me either so I think our ride preferences are a lot alike.

The Sum of All Thrills is at its core a roller coaster simulator.  You get to design it and determine the drops, curves and loops of your coaster ride.    Even if you decide not to ride it, you will really like watching other Guests as they experience their ride.  From my observation, most Guests design a very thrilling ride. I have enjoyed my experience riding the Sum of All Thrills when I designed a mild version without any inversions or extreme drops.  Although I really enjoyed myself, even a mild motion simulator can leave me queasy if I ride it more than once.  (Don't ask the Cast Member at Star Tours exit - he doesn't like to talk about it).

So my "Mom's" opinion is to definitely go and view the Sum of All Thrills to see what it's all about first.  If you do not have severe motion sickness or claustrophobia then chances are you will enjoy it.  Remember though it is still a thrill ride and not quite as mild as hangliding over California.

I hope you have a thrilling vacation and enjoy experiencing some new attractions on your next visit!  Please come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any further questions.  We love to help!

    Blessings,
