Hi Margaret,
Welcome back to planDisney! Thank you for stopping by with another great question!
Kudos to you for considering this transportation dilemma prior to your arrival. For direct travel, I would suggest that you use a ride share service like Uber or Lyft. When requesting your ride, be sure to select a vehicle large enough to accommodate everyone in your party. I also suggest communicating with the driver to make sure the vehicle can also carry a scooter. You may have to request two different vehicles to accommodate both scooters. When I order multiple ride share pick-ups at the same time, I use two different credit cards or different ride share services to be sure my credit card does not read the charges as duplicate charges and decline a charge.
There are a few other options. You will have to decide which option might be the quickest depending on your resort hotel location. If you are staying at Disney's Contemporary Resort or Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, you could walk or take the
Walt Disney World Monorail to Magic Kingdom and then catch a bus from there to one of the Walt Disney World resort hotels on
Disney's BoardWalk area. Depending on the dates of your visit, you might also be able to take the monorail from Disney's Polynesian Village Resort to Magic Kingdom and then bus to a resort hotel in Disney's BoardWalk area. Note that the monorail station at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is currently being renovated so guests have to walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center to catch the monorail.
Second, you could take a bus from your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel to Disney's Hollywood Studios and then, from there, take the pathway to Disney's BoardWalk area. It's about a 15-minute walk for us without anyone in our party using scooters.
Finally, if you are staying at a resort hotel with access to the
Disney Skyliner, you can take the Skyliner to the EPCOT International Gateway entrance which will put you out right on Disney's BoardWalk area or you could take the Skyliner to Disney's Hollywood Studios and use the walking pathway to get to Disney's BoardWalk area.
Margaret, as you continue to make your plans, be sure to check the
operational updates and the
services for guests with mobility disabilities. Also note that one morning when we were trying to take the Disney Skyliner to Disney's Riviera Resort, Cast Members asked us if we had a dining reservation. Once we shared info on our dining reservation at Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera, they allowed us onto the Skyliner. So, just be sure to make an
advanced dining reservation for breakfast!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
