Any suggestions on taking an 18mos old on a plane? This is our first time flying with him. Only a 2 1/2 hr flight from Canada. Not sure what to bring for amusement etc. HELP!!

    Hello Amy,

The first time I took my daughter on a plane when she was just a bit older than your son. And you know what? We survived. And so will you!

Even today, I never travel without an mp3 player or portable DVD player. I was anxious putting earphones into my toddler's ears. But once I felt comfortable with the volume, both were lifesavers! Music and movies can entertain my daughter for hours. Hours. And that means you'll be at your destination before you know it!

On our first flight to Disney, I surprised my daughter with a small gift - an autograph book. I wanted her to be excited for what was to come at the Theme Parks. I explained to her for what the book was used. And then I allowed her to write a "note" on the front page. It ended up being a picture drawn for Mickey. Or maybe you'll want to bring a few crayons and a coloring book filled with his favorite Disney characters. Surprises and a small art project are both easy, inexpensive ways to keep kids occupied while flying.

Hope this helps. And good luck in the skies!

My family loves our Main Street in Ohio. But there's simply no comparison to Main Street U.S.A.! We don't get to Disney quite as often as I'd like, but that just means finding new ways to sprinkle Pixie Dust on our adventures! Learn More About Monina
