Suggestions on restaurant experience for 1st WDW meal after traveling all day for 2 love birds on their 1st WDW trip for their 1 year wedding anniversary on the deluxe DP 1or2 pts? Possibly in DD? Already booked Jiko/Spirit of Aloha/Ohana, others in parks

    Hi Megan,

Happy anniversary! Walt Disney World is a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion, and there are so many restaurants to choose from that are both delicious and romantic.

My first thought for a celebration is always California Grill atop the Contemporary resort, especially if you can reserve a spot near the time for Wishes at Magic Kingdom. The restaurant has amazing views of the fireworks, both from the table and from the observation decks. And the food is fabulous.

It might be a little tough to find a spot there at this late date. But not to worry if you can't! There are lots of other terrific options. For food and ambiance, I also would recommend:

Artist Point (Wilderness Lodge) -- We love the Pacific Northwest atmosphere and the food, both the seafood dishes and the signature bison.
Flying Fish Cafe (Boardwalk) -- Great food and you can enjoy the nightlife of the Boardwalk before or after dinner. As a bonus, if your timing is right, you can see some of IllumiNations from the Boardwalk area.
Narcoossee's (Grand Floridian)  -- The resort is beautiful, we've always had excellent food and service here, and you can catch a view of Wishes from the restaurant, which juts into Seven Seas Lagoon.
The Dining Room at Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe (Downtown Disney) -- The room is as warm and elegant as the cuisine, with views over the water.

We've had celebration dinners at each of these and left with great memories. Each is a signature dining experience that will require two dining credits.

I always run out of space when I talk about Disney dining, so if you would like some suggestions for venues that require just one dining credit, please write me back. I'm happy to provide another list.

Wishing you a magical anniversary celebration and many, many more to come!

    Wilma
