Hello Georgina,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Your question combines two of my favourite things: food and fireworks!
My first recommendation is the
California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. From the quality and variety of its food, down to its decadent desserts and its extensive wine list, you can’t go wrong with a meal at the California Grill. It’s my family's top “must-do” for each of our visits to the Walt Disney World Resort. I celebrated my birthday there a few years ago, and the Cast Members went above and beyond to make my evening extra Magical.
Plus, the view from the 15th floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort is absolutely breathtaking. There's even an outside observation deck that gives you an amazing and unique view of Magic Kingdom Park and its nightly fireworks display, if you don't have a view from your table. If you’re dining before the fireworks, return to the check-in desk with your receipt before the show is scheduled to start. You'll then be able to enjoy the show either from the California Grill Lounge or the outside observation deck.
If you would rather spend your husband’s birthday in Epcot, I would recommend
La Hacienda de San Angel. I find it’s one of the “hidden gems” of World Showcase, with some absolutely delicious food (and margaritas!) and a fantastic, lake-side and air-conditioned view of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, if you time your reservation right. Make sure to request a window seat when you check in.
Finally, be sure to mention the fact that you’ll be celebrating your husband’s birthday when you make all of your dining reservations.
Have fun planning your visit and have a Magical Day!
Lynne
