The first trip my family took was when our two oldest sons were both toddlers, and we stayed at
Disney's All-Star Movie Resort and absolutely loved it. The price was a good match for us, and our sons thought the resort was wonderful with all of its large Disney movie icons throughout the resort. Even though the amenities are more limited at a value resort, it had everything we needed with pools, movies at night, an arcade, a playground, and a counter service restaurant. In addition to this resort, there are other
value resorts that are similar, but with different themes including Disney's Art of Animation which even has family suites if you'd like more space.
Another resort that my sons have really enjoyed is
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge as the experience is so unique with the theming from Africa and animals on the savannah that the resort overlooks. This resort, too, has the same things as the value resorts but has even more to offer within the resort with different children's activities often geared toward animals, not to mention all the animal watching. If you happen to find a
Special Offer, the standard rooms can be more budget friendly while still offering you all of the perks of the resort.
If your sons are pirate fans, they may enjoy the pirate-themed rooms at
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. As this is a moderate resort, it is right in the middle of with its offering of different amenities. I should mention that it is a large resort, but it does offer an internal bus system to help you move around the resort easily. Please let us know if we can help again. -Kara
