Do you have any suggestions of new activities in the parks for 8 y/o boy at WDW ? We have done BBB's knight package, Jedi training, pirates league, P&P cruise, harmony barber, & character dining.

    Hi Tracie,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. First of all: will you adopt me? Your son has had so many magical Walt Disney World adventures. I love that there are so many cool things to do around the parks – it never gets old!

On our recent trip, my daughter was really interested in Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. We got so excited every time we saw someone activate the magical portals around the parks! My daughter is a fan of the wizard from that other park, but loved the idea that this magical quest was Disney-themed. To learn more or to start your quest, visit the Firehouse on Main Street, U.S.A.

A splurge activity (but totally worth it for us) was the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party. We loved the First Order and Resistance themed desserts and snacks, and watch the fireworks from a reserved VIP viewing area was simply awesome (bonus: on our night, everyone stayed sitting down for the whole show).

Tracie, have you visited Disney’s BoardWalk area at night? We had a really great time watching the entertainment on the BoardWalk (Coney Island Chris was a huge hit amongst the 8-year-old set) and there are lots of great spots for snack or bite to eat.

Depending on when you’re visiting, your son might get a kick out of the Incredible Summer activities around the parks, and Toy Story Land will be opening on June 30. The Guardians of the Galaxy Stage Show at Epcot and Alien Swirling Saucers attraction are both great ways for an 8-year-old to "Play Big."

The Disney Parks Blog is always a great resource for announcements of new and exciting offerings at Walt Disney World, so stay tuned for more fun ideas!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
