Suggestions for meals as with our reservations we were not able to purchase meal plans. How much should I budget for? 1 Adult and 2 kids (age 4 and 3)

    Hi there, Jennifer!

It's a great idea to start thinking of the food budget in advance. Those costs can certainly creep up any time you are on vacation!

While I am hesitant to give you an exact figure, not knowing the tastes and appetites of you and your little ones, I would suggest that you start looking around at the various fan sites that post current menu prices of items at Walt Disney World Resort restaurants. Two of the best are www.AllEars.net and www.WDWInfo.com. These unaffiliated third-party sites do a very good job of keeping their menu content up-to-date, both in terms of selection and cost.

Consider purchasing Disney Gift Cards and using them as your currency throughout the Parks once you have determined your food budget. That will help keep you on track.

Definitely bring your own snacks and drinks! You can mail items to your Resort in advance, or have reasonably priced items delivered to you by services like Garden Grocer. And if you have a car, you can drive off-property to stock up. You are permitted to bring foodstuffs into the Parks; just don't pack any glass containers.

With the pre-planning you are doing, it'll be an easy project to keep yourself focused financially and allow yourself the room for some of the delicious treats available all over the Parks.

    Have a wonderful trip!

    See you later, celebrator,
    -Deborah B.
