What are some suggestions on what to do on our first day that do not require a park admission? We arrive late afternoon 4/2 at POFQ. Thanks!!!

Hi, Kristina! We just got back from Port Orleans French Quarter. Not only are we missing it, but I also have a feeling that it's missing us.

One thing we never seem to find much time for is hitting the pool. You'll likely have some nice temperatures in early April. The day you arrive might make for a great relax-around-the-resort kind of day. If the pool is in the picture, pack your suits in your carry on luggage (and tell your hubby to leave his speedo at home.) Why in your carry on luggage? Because your checked luggage might not arrive until early evening. Another cool thing to hit at POFQ: beignets at the food court.

If you'd like to venture further from the resort, hop on the boat to Downtown Disney. Or, grab a boat the other way to Port Orleans Riverside and take in some Yeehaa Bob (he performs every Wednesday through Saturday at the River Roost Lounge.)

My last suggestion? Hoop Dee Doo. It's a must-do.
