    It was suggested that we wear walking sandals to the parks. Do you have a suggestion on what brand would work best?

    Hi Jessica,

    Proper footwear is essential at Walt Disney World. Most guests don't realize the amount of walking they'll be expected to do so I'm so glad you've found this information as you plan your trip. Firstly, I would not recommend flip flops. Although cool and typically a blister free shoe, the afternoon rain showers at Walt Disney World will turn your flip flops into ice skates. The pavement will become very slippery so you'll want to find a shoe with a non-slip sole. 

    I also like to shy away from gym shoes if traveling during the Summer/Fall months. The rain showers will leave you with very wet feet which inevitably results in blisters and shoes that may take several hours to dry. 

    My best shoe purchase over the years were Keens (for every member of our family, from toddlers to adults). They breathe, they dry quickly, and they have a great, non-slip sole. Many guests like Teva sandals and Merrells for the same reason. UGG offers many cute, stylish sandals that have never given me blisters as long as I wear them in well before we leave. The UGG Tasmina has seen many-A-Disney mile over the past couple of years ... never a blister! 

    A great tip is to purchase a blister stick sold in any of your local pharmacies. I carry it with me everywhere while at Walt Disney World and have used it on the kids when they feel a blister coming.
