What attractions/events/hotel do you suggest to make a 7 to 10 year old girl feel like a princess? We're adopting through foster care. Foster children have usually missed out on all the joys of childhood and we want her to know how treasured she is.

    Hi Tricia!
First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!! on making a difference in the life of a child.
Walt Disney World is the perfect place to celebrate your newest family member. Make sure to pick up your daughter's "1st Visit" and "I'm Celebrating" buttons at check-in to wear proudly around the parks. An activity that many princesses-to-be enjoy is the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique located inside the Magic Kingdom where she can get all made up to look like a princess herself, complete with hair, makeup and clothes, if desired. It is probably for girls closer to 7 than 10, but that is not a hard and fast fact...besides, you're celebrating!!
You may also want to try to book a meal either at Cinderella's Royal Table inside the Magic Kingdom or at Akershus Royal banquet Hall in the Norway Pavillion at EPCOT. Your newest princess will get to meet an abundance of true Disney Royalty at either of these great dining locations. Akershus is a little easier to get into, but who doesn't want to dine inside the Castle??
Finally, your resort choice is not as important because ALL Disney resorts make their guests feel like they are a VIP! For a truly remarkable first visit however, might I suggest any of the three "monorail resorts" (Grand Floridian, the Contemporary or the Polynesian Resorts). They are all amazing and they are closest in proximity to the Magic Kingdom!
I know this is just the beginning of your planning and I do not want to overwhelm you with too much too soon. Please let me know if I can help further as your plans start to take shape. I wish you the very best in your adoption process and would love to help you plan even more for the arrival of your newest gem!!
