Do you suggest purchasing park tickets through the hotel booking online, or just do it separately? Also thoughts on the dining plan? Family of 5 going for 7 days.....

Hello Tara! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

There are so many elements to consider when planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation that the ease of booking a Magic Your Way Package is preferable to planning every individual element.

If you have any interest in the Disney Dining Plan, be advised that they are only available to Guests with a Walt Disney World Resort package that includes at least Resort Hotel Reservations and Tickets.

I love the Disney Dining Plans, but only when I know that Dining will be a major facet of our vacation and I am willing to plan Advanced Dining Reservations for several Character Meals or Upscale dining locations to justify the cost.

I book my tickets separately from my Room-Only Reservations. I usually am booking my Walt Disney World Resort Hotel well before (499 days) the Magic Your Way Packages become available to Guests and with Special Offers on Tickets or Discounts on Rooms. I find it more cost-effective to make initial plans and modify when most efficient for saving more more or upgrading current reservations.

This way does take a lot of personal time to ensure that Special Offers are capitalized and Modifications on Reservations are completed in a timely manner, however.

If you have the time, desire and any potential for cost-effective measures that might make a difference in the cost of your Walt Disney World vacation, that you consider planning separately. Just remember that a Magic Your Way Vacation Package may still end up being a better value and is the only way to include a Disney Dining Plan.

    Happy Planning!
