Hi Laura! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
In only FIVE days you will be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort again! Yay! As a mom who has traveled to "The Most Magical Place on Earth" multiple times with an
infant, I completely understand your concern and appreciate the planning that goes into these important details.
Since the mini-refrigerators that are located in the standard rooms at
Disney Resort hotels don't typically have a freezer compartment, it is definitely difficult to get an ice pack frozen! But I do have a couple of options for you to try. Although
loose ice is no longer permitted in the theme parks, ice that is contained in a zipped bag is fine. My first suggestion is to bring some zipped bags with you for your vacation and fill them with ice that is available at your resort. You can refill them with complimentary cups of ice from
Quick-Service locations in the theme parks (just let them know why you need the ice and I'm sure they will be happy to help!) throughout the day. This should help keep your items cold!
If you bring ice packs with you, I suggest asking Bell Services or the
Front Desk at your resort for somewhere that they can be stored and frozen, so you can pick them up prior to heading out to the theme parks for the day. This may help keep things cooler since they will probably last longer than the ice in zipped bags.
I hope this helps and that everything works out perfectly for you, Laura! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
