Hi Peggy, and welcome back to planDisney! How wonderful that you'll be returning for another magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort with your precious granddaughters! When I land at Orlando International Airport, I’m always ready to get to my resort hotel as quickly as possible so the fun can begin. With kids in tow, choosing the right transportation can make a big difference in starting your trip smoothly. Let’s look at the airport transportation options to help get you on your way!
The first option and my favorite is
Minnie Van™ Service. Minnie Van airport transportation is only available to Guests at
Disney Deluxe Resort Hotels and offers many benefits. The vehicles are driven by trained Disney Cast Members, which gives me an added layer of reassurance when traveling with my children. They also pick you up right outside baggage claim, so the convenience makes the airport experience so much less stressful! They can transport up to six Guests and can even provide up to three car seats. If any of your granddaughters are still in carseats, this can be a game changer in not having to travel with their own seats. Minnie Van service currently costs $249 (subject to change) and can be reserved up to 60 days in advance.
The next option is to use a rideshare service such as Lyft, which typically costs less and still picks you up near baggage claim. However, one important consideration is that you would need to travel with your own carseats. The most economical option is to use the Mears motorcoach service. This can be reserved on their website. While this is the most affordable option, it is not necessarily direct-to-resort, as Guests from multiple resorts travel on one motorcoach. Your travel time may be longer while the buses are loaded and Guests are dropped off at other resort hotels.
Peggy, I hope this helps you decide on the best way to get your vacation started! If you have any more questions, stop back by and see us here at planDisney. We are always here to help you plan a visit filled with magical moments from start to finish!
Your pal,
Casey
