Would you suggest bringing a photo ID i.e. drivers license in parks (if not buying alcohol)? If so, would a pic of ID on phone suffice instead of actual ID?

Hey there, Ariele, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by the planDisney panel with your question!

Ariele, the safest answer here is probably - it depends! While I’ve never been asked to show photo identification inside the Theme Parks, I can’t say that it won’t happen. So it’s probably better to be safe than sorry. Of course, if you are planning to drive to the Theme Parks or Disney Resorts Collection hotel for a dining reservation, I suggest keeping your driver’s license with you at all times. Not only because driving without a license is illegal but also because Disney Resort Security Cast Members will want to see your license to gain entry onto the resort hotel campus. I was asked to show my ID and dining reservation recently when visiting Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort or a dining reservation. I actually forgot my license (remember when I said it was illegal lol) and had to drive back to Disney's Pop Century resort to grab it. But when it comes to Theme Parks, I personally try to travel as lightly as possible. But since I usually have a book bag in tow, I just throw my wallet and other necessities in there. Not only does it keep my ID close to me, but it also gives me a place to keep my portable battery pack! While we’re here, I’ll give you a quick run down of my Disney Theme Park Bag necessities: portable Battery Charger, ponchos (you know how that Central Florida weather can be), Wallet (including some cash just in case), Hand Sanitizer (germs are real), and an extra pair of ears for my wife! My Disney Vacations are really for my wife anyway!

I hope this helps, Ariele! If you have more questions while planning your vacation, stop back by and let me know

You’ve got a friend in me,
