I suffer from OCD and anxiety and standing in long lines near large crowds could aggravate that. I was told that I could possibly get assistance with this. My question is would they need a note from my doctor or do I just need to speak with someone?

    Hi, Konda!

This is something you will want to discuss with your physician.  While you can get a Guest Assistance Card which will may make your wait for attractions more comfortable, you will still need to deal with crowds in the parks, waiting at Quick Service restaurants, and on Disney transportation.  The buses are often crowded with "standing room only" available.  Lines getting into the parks can get long, and even just walking up Main Street can get very crowded especially at the end of the day when guests are all heading to the exit.

I do not want to discourage you from your vacation, but you need to be aware that waiting for attractions is where the Guest Assistance Card will help the most, but there are crowds everywhere and I would not want you to feel uncomfortable in any way.

Your best bet to avoid crowds is to travel during slower times of the year (late January or September) and enjoy the parks early in the day.  Plan for short days in the parks with leisure time at your resort.  I am sure your physician will have professional advice to make your vacation more enjoyable.  Good luck!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
