Hi Maire!
Welcome to planDisney.
It's always a pleasure to assist my fellow guests from the UK, and I'm very happy to help you make a decision about which Disney Resort hotel will suit you best.
While I have never stayed at either of these hotels, I have visited them both on many occasions. They are beautifully themed, with many lovely restaurants and amenities. You'll love Minnie's Beach Bash Breakfast at Cape May Cafe at
Disney's Beach Club Resort which is located in the EPCOT Resort Area. You'll be within easy walking distance of Disney's Yacht Club Resort where you'll find two of my favourite restaurants -
Yachtsman Steakhouse and Ale & Compass Restaurant. There is a lot to enjoy at the BoardWalk with restaurants and entertainment, or just an ice cream or coffee while you watch the friendship boats go past on Crescent Lake. You are also located in one of the most desirable positions within walking distance from Disney's Skyliner which will take you high above the Resort to Disney's Hollywood Studios or other resort hotels along the route - Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Art of Animation and Disney's Pop Century Resort. Disney Riviera Resort is also on the Skyline route where you'll find another of my favourites - Topolinos Terrace which I recommend for breakfast (Breakfast A La Art with Mickey and Friends) or dinner - the views are spectacular from the restaurant's outside terrace! Not least, you are a short stroll from EPCOT's International Gateway entrance, for the easiest, quickest access to World Showcase.
Despite Stormalong Bay being closed for refurbishment during your visit, you are welcome to use the
Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove Leisure Pools, so you can still enjoy some relaxing pool time at this hotel.
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is over at the Magic Kingdom Resort Area. You'll find 'Ohana here, with its cute character breakfast (Best Friends Breakfast with Lilo and Stitch) or a delicious family-style dinner - worth a visit for the 'Ohana Bread Pudding alone. You can't miss the infamous DOLE Whip® literally on tap at
Pineapple Lanai. Overlooking the beautiful Seven Seas Lagoon, you are a monorail ride away from Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Disney's Contemporary Resort, and you can also take a lovely boat ride across the lagoon to Magic Kingdom Park. At night you can watch the Magic Kingdom Fireworks from the beach at this resort!, and don't forget the
Electrical Water Pageant which will sail past the shore every evening. The monorail takes you to EPCOT (with one transfer), or there is a walking path to the Transportation and Ticket Center to board a direct EPCOT monorail from there.
You have a difficult choice to make! I think the deciding factor for me would be whether I want to be closer to Magic Kingdom Park, or EPCOT. Good luck with making your decision!
Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions, and you can
send me another direct question if you wish. We will be happy to help you plan your magical holiday to Walt Disney World!
