Happiest Greetings on Earth, Curtis! I'm so happy to welcome you to planDisney and thanks for sharing your question with us.
This week is an exciting one for Guests who hope to purchase a
Magic Key Pass and unlock all the benefits of this wonderful program. As you noted, the
Imagine Key does have residency requirements within specific ZIP codes in order to be eligible for this Pass type, and proof of residency is required at both the time of purchase and use of the Magic Key for entrance to the theme parks. A valid, government-issued photo ID showing an address within eligible ZIP codes is the only proof of residency currently accepted, and I am not aware of any alternate forms such as a student ID. I'm sorry if that is disappointing news, Curtis!
You can consider opting for a Pass type that does not have residency requirements if you're still interested in joining the Magic Key family, or updating your government-issued ID to be eligible for future SoCal Resident offers. For example, periodically, Disneyland Resort offers
specially-priced tickets for eligible residents in Southern California, which you can find on the
Offers and Discounts page of the official Disneyland website.
I hope this is helpful guidance, Curtis, and I'll share one last bit of advice as you consider your Magic Key purchase options this week.
The Magic Key Buying Guide is full of helpful tips and insight on what to do before, during, and after purchasing a Magic Key. Best of luck with the process this week, and if you have any other questions, please come back to
planDisney! We'd be happy to help.
Wishing you Wondrous Journeys,
Tishra
