Struggling to understand how PhotoPass and Memory Maker work. I read this:"Once you activate Memory Maker, you have 30 days to capture photos and videos." Do I have to wait until our trip is less than 30 days out before I buy Memory Maker?

Hi, Erica! You can purchase Memory Maker any time before you head to Walt Disney World Resort. This could really help you budget for your trip, purchasing pieces of your vacation as you go, building up to one magical vacation. I have even purchased Memory Maker a year in advance of the date I actually activated it!

There is currently a discounted price for Memory Maker purchased in advance. As long as you purchase it three days before you take your first pixie-dusted picture, then all of your pictures will be included. Be sure to keep an eye on the calendar to take advantage of the advance purchase price. You would not want to be late for that very important date with a PhotoPass photographer in front of Cinderella Castle on the first day of your vacation! If the date does slip up on you, you can still purchase Memory Maker at the full price, which will include photos taken immediately afterwards.

Each photo that you take will remain in your Disney PhotoPass account for 45 days before it expires. You can begin downloading your pictures anytime within those 45 days, and your Memory Maker entitlement will then be activated when that first download occurs. From the point of your first download, your "Memory Maker window"  begins and you have 30 days to finish taking all of your pictures, completing edits, and downloading all of the pictures that you wish to keep. Try not to wait until the last moment to edit and download your pictures. There are lots of great ways to add more magic to them with borders, character signatures, and other enhancements.

I hope this information makes the picture more clear for you, Erica. Please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your trip. Have a magical day!
