Hi Jessica ~
As a Mom of a special needs child, I know that planning ahead is always a great idea. Having a stroller always makes it easier for children with special needs. While
stroller rentals are not free for children with a cognitive disability, you can save some money by purchasing a length of stay rental. This allows Guests to pre-pay the number of days that you will require a stroller for less per day when you rent for multiple days. You can do this once you arrive at the first theme park during your visit. The stroller will have to be returned before you leave that theme park. When you arrive at the next theme park during your visit, you can show your receipt at the stroller rental location to get a stroller for that day.
There are several private local companies that offer stroller rentals for Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. These companies will deliver and pick-up your stroller to your resort hotel. This would allow you to use the stroller outside of the theme parks during your stay. This can come in handy when you have a tired little one and traveling back to your resort at the end of the day. There are some recommendations in the link I have provided you above.
If you will need to use the stroller as a wheelchair, stop by Guest Relations and let them know so that they can give you a red band to go on the stroller. This will indicate to Cast Members at attractions that you will be using it as a wheelchair and they will allow your child to remain in it while in queues.
The Walt Disney World Resort does offer some
services to help Guests with cognitive disabilities. Let me know if you have any questions regarding these services. I'm hEAR for you!
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V
