My stroller meets the size requirements but does not collapse will it be allowed on the transportation monorail, boat, etc.

    Hi Monica,

How exciting that your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth is this week! I loved having a stroller on our Disney vacations when my son was little. It not only kept him comfortable and happy, but it was a great place for all our gadgets and gizmos that we needed throughout the day and any thingamabobs we collected along the way. I’m happy to help you understand the logistics for transportation around the Walt Disney World Resort using your own stroller.

There are specific policies for each type of complimentary transportation on property regarding strollers, in place for your family’s and other Guests’ safety:

    • Bus Service: All strollers must be folded and stowed out of the aisle. Medical strollers for Guests with disabilities will be treated as wheelchairs.
    • Water Transportation (Boats, various sizes and styles): All strollers must be folded and stowed out of the aisle. Medical strollers for Guests with disabilities will be treated as wheelchairs.
    • Monorail: Strollers may be rolled into the Monorail without folding, be sure to secure the stroller while the Monorail is in motion.
    • Disney Skyliner: If the stroller fits within a 30" x 48" space, it may be rolled into the Skyliner car without folding; if larger it must be folded. Be sure to secure the stroller while the Skyliner is in motion.

Unfortunately, the Disney Monorail or Skyliner cannot take you everywhere you want to be, so you should plan the best way to navigate with your family each day. While on the go, you can use the Transportation tools in your My Disney Experience App to determine the best routes around property. Find this feature by selecting the three lines icon in the bottom right of your home screen, then tapping the Transportation tile.

If you’re driving to Orlando, you could use your own vehicle for the destinations and theme parks that otherwise require a bus or boat from your resort. If you are solely dependent on complimentary Disney transportation, you may choose to leave your stroller in your resort room some days and rent a stroller at the entrance to any theme park. You then return it at the end of the day and transportation options remain flexible for your family without the stroller constraints.

Disney Minnie Van Service is another great option. Managed through the Lyft mobile app, you can see the timing and prices before committing to a reservation. For your stroller size you should select the Accessible option, and please know these Disney-owned and operated vehicles come with two child safety seats.

Monica, please remember that the Walt Disney World property rules state that strollers larger than 31” in width and 52” in length are not permitted, nor are stroller wagons allowed. I trust your handy carriage for your little prince or princess meets these requirements and hopefully this guidance will help you plan the final details of your special trip.

Wishing you a practically perfect vacation,
    Amy
