We have a strict budget and two children 6 and 8. Some people tell us to purchase the dining package while others say that it is more of a hassle than anything. It's our first trip to Disney and I want to make it a great experience for our children.

    Hi Heather,

Allow me to weigh in on the dining plan debate.  I have traveled to Walt Disney World both with and without the Disney Dining Plan and I am convinced that it is the most cost effective way to pay for meals while on vacation with Disney, especially if you are traveling with children under ten-years-old.  I find that the use of credits on the Dining Plan simplifies meal payments a great deal.  Cast Members working at restaurants throughout Walt Disney World will be happy to explain the use of dining plan credits if you need assistance.  The whole system, however, is quite easy and I think you'll find you're an expert at using the Disney Dining Plan after your first few meals.

Whether you decide to use the Disney Dining Plan or not, I'm sure your kids will thoroughly embrace all the magic that awaits them at Walt Disney World.

Sending much pixie dust your way for a truly magical Walt Disney World vacation!
