Hi Jason! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
What a great choice for Christmas!
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is beautifully decorated during the
Holidays at the Disneyland Resort. I love visiting the lobby and grabbing a classic Mickey-shaped Gingerbread Cookie from the Grand Californian Grand Hall Cart while enjoying the festive decorations and tree. It instantly puts me in the holiday spirit, and the dining options in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa are among our favorites year-round with their delicious food and impeccable service. You can't go wrong with
Storytellers Cafe or
Napa Rose.
Typically,
dining reservations open 60 days out for dining locations at Disneyland Resort. However, that isn't always the case. My advice is always to start checking on your preferred date a little before 60 days and keep checking if you don't see your date open up at that 60-day mark. Persistence can pay off! Even if your preferred date or time is full, keep checking. I set a reminder for myself on my mobile device to check each day. People's plans change, even fairly last minute, which means you might be able to book your coveted spot.
Storytellers Cafe is offering a Thanksgiving Brunch and Dinner Buffet this year, which sounds absolutely amazing. While there's been no official word yet, it could be they're cooking up something extra special for the Holidays too. If reservations were delayed in becoming available for Guests to book, that might be why. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, and hopefully, you find the perfect spot at Disneyland Resort for your Christmas feast.
In the meantime, if visions of sugar plums are dancing in your head, check out the
Foodie Guide by Disney Eats. It's your official source for all the festive treats you'll want to grab while you're visiting! Trust me, there's always room for a holiday churro.
Have a magical day.
