Hey Meg! I see that you are working for the Resistance, so this must be a safe space
to speak about rebel plans against the First Order. Firstly, I'm so glad to see you have secured your spot at
Savi's Workshop to build your lightsaber. You are going to need this to find your way through
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge safely!
Once you've made it through your mission on
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and escaped the First Order on
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, you may be ready to explore some other lands far, far away ... those of Fantasy, Frontier, and Adventure! While the First Order is unlikely to find you there, it's smart to store your lightsaber so as not to break your cover. There are a few options for you:
- If you are visiting for the day or staying at a hotel off property, there is a package check service that is able to hold your lightsaber for you until you are ready to leave. This service is complimentary and you can find it at the following locations at Disneyland Park: Disneyland Resort Stroller Stop, Pioneer Mercantile, Port Royal, and The Star Trader. Be sure to keep your receipt handy! The package check is for purchases made same-day, and you will likely be asked to verify the date of purchase by showing the receipt.
- If you are staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, your item can actually be magically delivered directly to your hotel! Just ask the Cast Member at check-out.
- If you find yourself visiting on another day with your lightsaber in tow and would like to store it for part of the day, there is a secret location which has storage just large enough for a deconstructed lightsaber. The First Order will never be able to locate it, so it is safe and sound. Secure your lightsaber by renting one of the large lockers located on the Esplanade to the left of the Main Gates of Disneyland Park.
Meg, you'll note that I did not mention Tomorrowland as a safe space up above. That's because word has it that Darth Vader himself is making limited time appearances throughout the land, near
Star Wars Launch Bay. To be prepared for a possible run-in, be sure to check the character appearance schedule in the app. Simply navigate to the pin-point icon along the bottom navigation bar. Once you are in the map, tap the drop down menu at the top and select "Characters". If you move along the top and tap "Show List" you can easily scroll until you see Darth Vader to find out when he will be appearing.
I sure hope this was helpful in your planning, Meg! If you have any more questions, you know where to find us here at
planDisney.
May the force be with you,
Tara
