    Hi Stephanie, My family and I are staying at Coronado Springs next week. We have stayed serveral times at Port Orleans Riverside so how does it compare? Thank you for your help!

    Hi there Tamela!

    Thanks for sending me such a great question!  I am glad your family has decided to try a different Walt Disney World Resort, one of my Disney Goals is to stay at every resort on Walt Disney World property.  I think that you will be very pleased staying at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort.  I do find the resort to be quite similar to Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, however it does have its own unique touches.  

    First of all, the theming is absolutely beautiful.  With a southwestern feel, the resort offers many amenities for your family to enjoy.  The Dig Site is a huge pool with a Mayan Ruins theme.  The water slide is a must do for the thrill seekers in your family!  In terms of dining, I love the choices Disney's Coronado Springs Resort has to offer.  I prefer the Maya Grill over Boatwright's Dining Hall for Table Service Dining and Pepper Market has a quick something for everyone's tastes.  

    The property itself is absolutely stunning.  The lake reminds me of the Sassagoula River that flows through Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort, only at a slightly larger scale.  The beach is an added bonus, as well as La Vida Health Club, with 24 hour access as well as a wide range of spa and salon services.  For me, the only drawback is that the Resort very expansive. Walking from one point to another can be a bit of a trek.
